  1. Size limits for exhibits:

    Grades 6 through 8
    Maximum of 36 inches wide 72 inches high by 24 inches deep

    Grades 9 through 12
    Maximum of 48 inches wide by 72 inches high by 30 Inches deep

    All table top projects must weigh les than 100 pounds

    Floor exhibits are available for all grades with a maximum height of 108 inches and weight limit of 250 pounds.
  2. Each of the following areas should be identified and explained on your exhibit:
    purpose of study
    hypothesis
    procedure
    results (data)
    conclusions
  3. You exhibit should have a project notebook and research paper at your display.
  4. Your exhibit may not have any words or photos that identify you or subjects in your project.
  5. You may not acknowledge names or addresses of individuals who may have helped you with your project. This includes e-mail addresses.

A good science project includes the following:

  1. Project notebook
    Accurate and detailed notes of the ongoing progress of your work. Keep a log of your actions and results. Your log does not have to be retyped for the science fair.
  2. Research paper
    Title page
    Table of contents
    Introduction: include your hypothesis and explain what prompted your research and what you hoped to achieve.
    The experiment: describe in detail the methodology used to derive your data and observations. Include photographs or drawings of self-deigned equipment.
    Discussion: the heart of your paper. Explain your thoughts and actions. Compare your results with published data, commonly-held beliefs and/or expected results.
    Conclusions
    Briefly summarize your results.
    References
    Give bibliographic information for any materials that is not your own.
