Student Entry Directions for the 2012, 60th Reading-Berks Science and Engineering Fair

Location: Albright College Bollman Gym , 13th and Bern St., Reading, PA Entry Fee: $10.00 per student, (Some schools may pay this fee) 2012 Fair Schedule: Tues. Feb. 14 – Due Date - for fair registration, signed required forms, feesMon. March 12- Project Setup, 6-8PM, Albright College Bollman Gym Tue. March 13 – 1pm – 3pm - Student Interviews, Albright BollmanGym Wed. March 14- 9am-7pm, Public/ student viewing of projects Albright Bollman Gym 7:30pm-9:30pm – Awards Ceremony, Albright College Chapel Thur. March 15 – 9am – 3pm Public/student viewing of projects Albright Bollman Gym 5pm-7:30pm – Project Removal from gym (projects will be discarded after 8pm) Science Fair Entry Directions 1. Go to the Reading Berks Science and Engineering website (www.rbsef.org) to register online. For students in (Grades 6-8 Junior Division) follow the directions for number 2 below. For students in (Grades 9-12 Senior Division) follow the directions for number 3 on page 2.
2. Gr. 6 – 8 (Junior Division) registration directions - Students must register online using the fair website at (www.rbsef.org). Students must complete the required forms listed under A. and B. below.
Note: Go to page 2 and read items 4 (forms check) and 5 (local fair display rules).

3. Gr. 9-12 (Senior Division) registration directions - Students must complete registration online on the fair website at (www.rbsef.org). After completing the required forms, print out the forms for signatures by a teacher/sponsor and a parent/guardian. The required forms are listed below in items A – E. For the "Registration Form" – on the fair website home page prompt "Registration" then prompt "Register Here". For other forms, on the fair website home page prompt "RBSEF Forms" then prompt "Required Forms" or "Document Library" to find the form(s) you need. Read all the directions before entering any information. Reminder, print out all completed required forms for signatures before leaving the website. A. Checklist For Adult Sponsor (1) - (on fair website prompt "RBSEF Forms" then prompt "Required Forms" or prompt "Document Library" C. Research Plan Attachment (Note: Abstract is optional), on website prompt "RBSEF Forms" then prompt "Required Forms" or prompt "Document Library"
4. IMPORTANT – (For all grades) - To determine if other forms may be required for your project topic, prompt " RBSEF Forms" then prompt "Wizard". Living Organisms - e.g. live plants, animals, microbes (bacteria), fungi (mushrooms)
DRIED PLANT MATERIALS TAXIDERMY SPECIMENS OR PARTS PRESERVED VERTEBRATES OR INVERTEBRATE ANIMALS INCLUDING EMBRYOS HUMAN OR ANIMAL FOOD (suggestion: use empty container of product or picture) HUMAN/ANIMAL PARTS (Exceptions: teeth, hair, nails, dried animal bones, histological dry mount sections, wet mount tissue slides) SOIL OR WASTE SAMPLES (suggestion: use art materials to simulate sample) ALL CHEMICALS, INCLUDING WATER, SOAPS, PAINTS, MAKE UP, SHAMPOO ETC. The Reading Berks Science and Engineering Inc. will reject a project if in its opinion it is not safe or which constitutes a hazard in a public exhibition or to the building.
